Today is one of the typical fall days that are common in our area during this time of year. Here are two pictures taken from our living room window comparing a nice, sunny late fall day of last year to today. Somebody seems to have stolen the mountains.

Last year
Our Mexican guests left yesterday; it seems as though they took the nice weather with them.
Don't tell me you had snow last year at this time of the year !
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if you find the mountain thief, search him : he might have our sunny days hidden in his pockets too.
Hi Laurence
ReplyDeleteNo, we didn't have snow in September of last year - that picture was taken the 28th of November 2006.
Even though there was a fair amount of snow on the ground then, it didn't last. It all melted away in the next few days. Snow here is usually gone after two weeks or so. We may then get some more, but that usually doesn't last either.
It does stay in the mountains which you see in the picture, however. People here can usually go skiing on those mountains from about November to April. We have three separate skiing areas within about half an hour's drive.
But many people go to Whistler. It is a somewhat more than two hours' drive away.
